NOTICE OF POSSIBLE
TRAINING and PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPEMENT SPECIALIST: Provides coordinated mentor/ coaching system to Pre-K education staff of Head Start program. Ensures that education staff receives support and direction needed to successfully implement high quality curriculum and classroom practices. Maintain reliability of Pre-K classrooms through use of the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) tool. Coordinates assessment of staff development needs and develops means to meet these needs. Tracks and reports staff development progress. Coordinates delivery of adult education/ literacy programs. Must have organization, communication and public relations skills. Must be knowledgeable of current trends and research in early childhood education. Bachelor's degree and two years related experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Full time position with benefit package including health insurance, retirement plan, paid leave and holidays. A pre-employment drug screen and background check are required. Detention Officer Position
The Swain County Sheriffs Office is currently accepting applications for the position of Detention Officer. The applicant must be at least 21 years old, able to work any shift, have a high school diploma or GED equivalent. The applicant must be able to pass a thorough background check and drug test.
