Jim was born on August 17, 1939 in Nashville, TN. Jim never met a stranger in his life and found great joy in meeting new people and helping others. This was again shown when, after moving to Almond, NC., he volunteered on the local rescue squad alongside his longtime best friend Rocky Sampson.
Those who had the privilege of meeting “Big Jim,” as friends would call him, can celebrate his life at Crisp Funeral Home located in Bryson City, NC. Visitation will be from 12-1pm with a service to follow.
On Friday, March 24 at 1 pm, he will be laid to rest at Spring Hill Cemetery in Madison, TN., next to his beloved wife.
