Freedom Fest, Powwow return

Freedom Fest will be in Downtown Bryson City on July 4th.

Staff reports

On Thursday, July 4, from 10 a.m.–10 p.m., the Swain County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting the annual Freedom Fest event in downtown Bryson City, and a full day of family friendly fun for everyone to enjoy.

“The chamber board is always excited to bring this festival to Bryson City and Swain County,” said Karen Proctor, executive director of the chamber. “Freedom Fest has grown to be the largest 4th of July festival in Western North Carolina, which means more visitors and locals alike out enjoying our downtown shops and restaurants throughout the day and evening. While we may be dealing with some street construction issues this year, the event will still feature over 70 artisan vendors, great local and regional food trucks including BBQ, mocktails, shave ice, and more, music by Shane Meade and the Sound at 8 p.m., a kid’s bounce house area on Main Street, and the great fireworks show that the Swain County Tourism Development Authority provides year after year.”
